First Church of Christ, Scientist, Beverly Hills sponsored this lecture with Fujiko Signs, a member of the Christian Science Board of Lectureship. We set up a 100-inch screen in our auditorium and on December 21, 2023, we streamed her in from Tokyo. Fujiko saw and heard the audience in real time. This is an edited recording of that night. The Q&A coming soon.
Mary Baker Eddy published Science and Health in 1875. She then spent 35 years revising her book. The display we put up is a short history of her re-writing process and was set up in the Beverly Hills Church. It came down at the end of December.
In the midst of a tropical storm, we conducted our Sunday service in the church. We allowed our musicians to record their music and send it in, but the readers came to the church. In the middle of the solo we lost power and our connection to Zoom. Here is the service starting with the solo. The "static" you hear in the background is the rain!

Our church building is an award-winning structure located just south of Wilshire Boulevard on Rexford Drive. We are open to all who wish to learn the principles of healing as Jesus demonstrated. We are a branch of The First Church of Christ, Scientist in Boston, Massachusetts, founded by Mary Baker Eddy.
The Church of Christ, Scientist, is a Christian denomination. The Bible and especially Jesus’ teachings are at the heart and soul of its practice. Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy states: “Jesus established his church and maintained his mission on a spiritual foundation of Christ-healing.” This is the continuing mission of the Church of Christ, Scientist. The practice of this system of Christian healing has resulted in significant cures of physical and mental problems for over a century, with many of these accounts available online. In Christian Science, God is seen as always upholding health and well-being. The power of prayer lies not in faith alone but in a deeper understanding of God’s divine laws that embrace humanity.
